NATO troops in Hungary?

The Hungarian Social Forum – Social Roundtable has asked on Wednesday the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán to give clear response whether he would authorize the entry into Hungary of NATO troops. The question has become actual because the call to member states on Tuesday of Gen. Philip Breedlove, the chief commander of NATO to take in consideration the permanent presence of NATO troops in „some countries of East Europe”. Breedlove has told, that he presents his initiative to leading officers of the military organisation with the aim to reconsider the overall military presence of the western alliance in Europe, as well as the dislocation of the troops, and the streightening of the defense of those eastern european countries, who fear their security from Russia menace. HSF-SR has put two questions to Mr. Orbán: Did the hungarian government invite NATO troops to Hungary? What is the opinion of the PM regarding the request of Poland and Baltic States concerning the permanent hosting of NATO troops in those countries? HSF-SR has remembered Viktor Orbán the message sent on Monday calling him, as leader of a country bordering wit Ukraine, to an active Peace diplomacy for disminishing the international tension created by the crisis in Ukraine threatening with civil war. „We would like that the opening to East policy followed up to now would not be put in danger, but would be reinforced, and you would show the necessary firmness vis a vis of the pression of american and NATO circles wanting to drive in a wedge between Europe and Russia and do not shrink back from resuscitate the climate of military confrontation between East and West” – among others the HSF message is writing.+++
