Im Frühjahr findet die größte US-Militärübung seit 25 Jahren in Europa statt: „Defender 2020“. Deutschland nimmt teil und wird auch zum Transitland. Schon ab Januar sollen nach RND-Informationen die Transporte Richtung Litauen und Polen rollen.

RND, 30.01.2020:  „Defender 2020“: Wie die Bundeswehr das Großmanöver organisiert:
“Beim größten US-geführten Manöver in Europa seit 25 Jahren ziehen knapp 40.000 Soldaten durch Deutschland Richtung Polen und Baltikum. Für die Bundeswehr ist das eine Demonstration von ‘Gemeinschaft’ und eine logistische Herausforderung. Die Friedensbewegung und andere sehen darin einen aggressiven Akt und eine Kriegsvorbereitung. U.a. mit einem Interview mit Holger Griebner vom ver.di-Arbeitskreis Frieden.

Bahris Schiffe transportieren Waffen und Militärfahrzeuge von den USA, Kanada und Europa in den Nahen Osten, hauptsächlich für die Armeen von Saudi-Arabien und den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten. Es ist eine bekannte Geschichte, die auch in Zeitungen und Fernsehsendern berichtet wurde. Zwischen Mai und Juni wurden Bahris Schiffe in Le Havre, Genua und Marseille blockiert und / oder umkämpft, während in anderen Fällen Hafenarbeiter die Beladung von Militärfahrzeugen an Bord blockierten.
