solidarity statement to the protesters in the US demanding justice and peace and overturning a racist system that murders and criminalizes Black people
Dear Friends of justice and peace,
As an international network fighting against the biggest most destructive war machine in the world, we stand in solidarity with the protests taking place across your country demanding justice and peace and overturning a racist system that murders and criminalizes Black people.
We condemn the violent crackdown on demonstrators by militarized police, national guard, and other state forces. The use of tear gas, rubber bullets, live bullets, arrests and mass incarceration, threats of deportation, and dangerously violent tactics against legitimate non-violent protest outrages us.We share your outrage at President Trump’s violation of constitutional law.
You are defending democracy and human rights in your country and the world against an oppressive government with a hate-filled “leader”.
Saying this we want to underline, that the repression against minorities in your country is a structural problem independent of the different governments in the past and in the future.
Without global justice, equality, and democracy there will be no resolution of the conflict gripping your country.
As an international peace movement that understands and strategically utilizes the power of direct action and civil disobedience, we are supporting the protests by taking actions in our own countries.
We send love and solidarity to our Black brothers and sisters who are grieving and who are organizing for liberation. We stand with you!
We wish you all the best in our common fight for justice and peace.
