What is the job of the ICC?

The “job” of the ICC is to develop the Network, f.e. in exchanging information and communicate frequently. At least twice a year the ICC (or parts of it) should meet in person. Save Sinjajevina: Herders and activists protect Montenegrin pastures from military occupation

After a mobile blockade lasting almost two months, a small group of traditional herders and activists has successfully repelled NATO and the Montenegrin military’s efforts to occupy the territory of Sinjajevina in Montenegro – the largest mountain grassland in the Balkans and the second in Europe.

In an archetypal David and Goliath encounter, Sinjajenivan herders have braved and adapted to COVID-19 lockdowns, driving snow and sub-zero temperatures to keep numerous military incursions at bay.

The  No to War – No to NATO Network denounces the North Atlantic Treaty Association’s (NATO) continuing efforts to obstruct the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) that comes into force on January 22, 2021.

On December 15, NATO issued a statement that once again voiced its groundless opposition to the TPNW. NATO reiterated its commitment to remain a nuclear alliance “as long as nuclear weapons exist”. Continue reading →

The Germany-Wide Day of Action on 5 December 2020 – a Prelude to Further Joint Engagement

With more than 100 events and several thousand participants, the day of action and protest organized by the Abrüsten statt Aufrüsten campaign (Disarm instead of Rearm) was a great success, despite the difficult conditions created by Covid-19.

Peace initiatives all over the country were joined by trade unions and – in a new showing of solidarity— environmental organizations who made this day theirs and, full of ideas and imagination, took to the streets for peace and disarmament while keeping with the nation-wide Corona-related restrictions. Human chains, rallies, vigils, public events, signature campaigns, and information stands characterised the more than 100 actions.
