The Ukraine war has shifted the international context towards major confrontations and has global consequences for the people: Food and energy insecurity, military spending, inflation, and further international tensions. In this panel we will speak about the global south perspective, the role of NATO and the European Union, the importance of neutrality, the struggle in the US against imperialism and the need for a unitary peace strategy to build an alternative for all.”

- Reiner Braun, Germany
Executive Director International Peace Bureau (IPB), he studied German Literature, History and Journalism. Since 1982, he has been actively involved in the Peace Movement, working in the office of the “Krefelder Appeal” against new nuclear weapons in Europe. Reiner is a member of the International Coordinating Committee of the ‘No to NATO’ network.
- Cosmas Musumali, Zambia
General Secretary & Vice President of the Socialist Party of Zambia,
PhD Economist. Writer. Socialist.
- Ulla Klötzer, Finland
is active with Women for Peace Finland. Her main activities are the struggle against the NATO accession of Finland and Sweden, she has also initiated an initiative for a new “Joint Security Conference” in 2025 – 50 years after the first one. She is also working with the No to NATO Network since years.
- Yuri Sheliazhenko, Ukraine

- Ann Wright, Hawaii
is a retired United States Army Colonel, former United States Foreign Service Officer, she resigned due to the Irak war and became a peace activist with CODEPINK and Veterans for Peace. Ann is a member of the International Coordinating Committee of the ‘No to NATO’ network.
