Call to Action for Peace Week 2024
We Refuse to Be Enemies
We are all one human family and see this as a political and cultural task. We have empathy for all people worldwide affected by wars. We are against double standards with one-sided views on individual conflict areas. The US Air Base Ramstein represents (covert) wars conducted worldwide with combat drones and logistical support with war materials. The US Air Base also symbolizes our federal government’s vassal loyalty to US war policies. Therefore, we direct our demands to the federal government to restore the constitutionally enshrined sovereignty and international legal obligations concerning the USA.
We demand:
- No NATO war council in Ramstein
- No US drone wars via Ramstein
- No war logistics through Ramstein
- Terminate the US troop statute and close the Air Base
What we do in this week:
- Peace camp
- Cultural program on stage
- Music
- Peace workshop
- Demonstration in Büchel
- Evening event with Daniele Ganser, Eugen Drewermann, and Christiane Reymann
- Large demonstration in Kaiserslautern

Who We Are / Our Self-Understanding:
We have been actively working for peace as the Stop Air Base Ramstein campaign since 2015.
Many of us have been involved in the peace movement for many years. However, more and more of our active members have only become politically engaged in recent years and have joined us as newcomers. This makes us a very age-diverse group, but as a young movement, we are also rooted in the tradition of the peace movement. We stand by the following core principles:
- Pacifism
- International solidarity
- Antimilitarism
- Antifascism
We plan our activities with a larger organizing team, where we develop creative ideas in a familial atmosphere to meet the growing demands in the fight for peace, disarmament, and the closure of foreign military bases like the Ramstein war hub.
