Niederländische Armee wegen Sozialaufstand auf Antilleninsel Curaçao mobilisiert
Willemstad. Nach mehreren übereinstimmenden Berichten hat die Regierung der Niederlande Soldaten auf der Antilleninsel Curaçao mobilisiert. Infolge der Corona-Pandemie ist es zu massiven sozialen Verwerfungen auf der Insel gekommen. Vergangene Woche war es zwei Tage in Folge zu sozialen Protesten gekommen, die sich zu einem Aufstand entwickelten. Vor allem Jugendliche und Müllwerker wandten sich gegen angekündigte Sozialkürzungen. Protestierende hatten Barrikaden errichtet, Feuer gelegt und den Regierungspalast gestürmt. Dies berichtet heute das Lateinamerika-Portal amerika21.
Curaçao leidet heftig unter den Auswirkungen der Corona-Pandemie sowie auch unter der ökonomischen Belastung infolge der wirtschaftlichen und institutionellen Krise im benachbarten Venezuela.

The U.S. Air Force will temporarily deploy four aircraft and crews to Curaçao to support drug-interdiction operations.
An E-8 Joint STARS (JSTARS) and an E-3 Sentry Airborne Early Warning aircraft, supported by two KC-135 Stratotankers, will soon fly detection and monitoring missions in international airspace to support U.S. and international law enforcement authorities fighting criminal organizations trafficking illegal narcotics in the Caribbean region, the U.S. Southern Command has announced.
AFRICOM as the colonization of Africa by the US
BAP (Black Aliance for Peace) is intensifying the work against the U.S. African Command (AFRICOM, Stuttgart Germany) as we link the work against the war being waged on African people in the U.S. by the domestic army we call the police and U.S. militarism abroad against African people and other colonized peoples’ and nations.
BAP’s U.S. Out of African Campaign has developed an international network of over two hundred activists from around the world – the U.S. Out of African Network (USOAN).
Tunde Osazua, BAP Network coordinator discusses the project and the issues driving AFRICOM and the U.S. basing and command structures.

With Massachusetts Peace Action, last night CPDCS held what I think was a uniquely important webinar last night titled “Authoritarianism or Democracy” with Noam Chomsky, the historian Van Gosse, and the African-American (BLM & Poor People’s Campaign) organizer Ty dePasse.
It was, I think, uniquely excellent and had 640 people registered from across the U.S. and four other countries, and I thought to share it with you I was the lead organizer, but didn’t have to appear online.
Noam’s analysis will likely be quite familiar to you, but Van Gosse’s presentation was comprehensive and chilling and concluded with a dose of hope. And Ty described the daily experiences of white supremicist authoritarianism for People of Color, beginning with a terrible example here in Boston.
